| Research: | Visual information (i.e. graphic illustration) and cognition. My objective is to better understand how ideas are communicated through illustrations (especially relative to descriptive prose), but from a psychological point of view. I intend to use findings to improve educational materials, public policy communication, comprehension, and problem solving. At KMDI, intend to add a (social) scientific dimension to my research and practice that is rooted in visual design and art, including many interdisciplinary projects that applied telepresence/virtual presence, and telerobotics to education (i.e. schools and science museums) and remote science exploration (telescience). | |
